We have
built an outdoor aviary for our Rosella's. It is 40'X 6'. There are four individual flights
that measure 10' x 6'. We have solid walls between each flight to avoid aggression between males. Rosellas need
to be housed one pair per flight. Males can be extremely aggressive towards each other. Rosellas are beautiful
birds. Enjoyable to watch and take care of. They can tolerate the cold but require dry shelter.
Rudy & Ruby my Crimsons have been housed outside for three years. They have had no problems adjusting to the
weather in Maryland. In fact, my male Crimson Rosella Rudy was taking a bath last winter in his water
bowl when it was 7 degrees in January. I keep heated water bowls for them in the winter.
